Beef

We are working to develop a dual-purpose dairy and beef herd.  Our eventual goal is to offer a fully grass-fed and -finished beef option.  This goal is a multi-year work-in-progress, as we work from the starting base of the herd we bought in Spring 2018.  During the grazing season (April – November) our herd self-harvests better than 75% of their daily ration from our mixed-forage pastures.  During the winter, the cows eat an equivalent amount of human-harvested forage, as hay and baleage.  In addition, lactating animals are currently receiving a mix of corn, oats, and barley screenings for supplemental protein and energy.  The mature dairy cows in our herd have been fed soy and canola in the past.  Please let us know if any of these things are points of concern, as we may be able to connect you with younger animals who have never consumed soy or canola.  We will continue to update progress toward our goal – please check in with us to see where we are at!  Visit our beef page to see what is currently available.

Dairy

We currently sell our milk to Lynn Dairy in Lynn, Wisconsin,  for cheesemaking.  Lynn Dairy’s award-winning cheese can be found in many local groceries.  We especially recommend their fresh cheese curds!  For more information about Lynn Dairy, or to order cheese online, please visit their website, lynndairy.com.
